Wildblumen Ranch is rooted in our family and guided by our faith, shaping the way we grow, design, and care for each season of this work.
Coming Back to the Land
A story of coming back home, growing something new, and learning to trust what was there all along.
That changed one afternoon over coffee with my grandpa. He noticed an arrangement I had made (with another flower farmer's flowers) and said, “It’s pretty, but those aren’t your flowers.” I told him mine were too wild, not good enough. He paused and asked, “Are you talking about your flowers or about yourself?”
That moment stayed with me. Somewhere in that conversation, he helped me see the beauty in what I was growing (and in myself). It was the beginning of trusting what I was drawn to, and allowing something new to take shape.
For years, my flowers were grown on our family farm. Then in 2023, life shifted again, I got married, and together my husband and I purchased land in 2024 just outside of Sleepy Eye, where our flowers and family will grow.
The land had long been nicknamed “the ranch,” and in honoring both its history and the life we’re building here, Wildblumen Ranch came to be.
Rooted in faith and family, this work is about caring for the land, growing with intention, and sharing something meaningful with our community.
Truthfully, I never expected to find myself back in my roots and all the mud that comes with it. I once imagined chasing a dance dream while working in healthcare. But when I said yes to moving home to our family farm, something in me shifted. I went from chasing big city dreams to chasing sunsets, drawn to the quiet and wide open spaces in a way I hadn’t been before.
As a child, I hadn’t fully appreciated the fruit trees, gardens, and perennials scattered across the farm. But after moving home, I wanted to understand everything that was growing there. In 2019, I planted a few rows of zinnias and sunflowers in our vegetable garden, and that’s where it all began.
What started small didn’t stay that way for long. One garden slowly turned into something more.. For a long time, I kept my flowers close. I wasn’t growing flowers to build a business, I was growing them for the farm, and for how they made me feel.
A Name Rooted in Heritage
Wildblumen means wildflowers in German, a quiet tribute to both my husband’s and my own heritage.
When most people hear the word wild, they think of something chaotic. But to me, it means something entirely different, something not contained, natural, and free.
A wildflower grows right where it’s planted. It doesn’t force its way into perfection, yet it is quietly beautiful and strong.
Meet the Team
It’s all hands on deck out here and we all depend on each other to keep our operation moving forward. We’re so grateful for our families and their support.
Wildblumen Ranch is more than a flower farm, it’s the place where we are building a life for our family.
Here, our boys will grow up with dirt on their hands and a front-row seat to the rhythm of the seasons. They’ll learn what it means to care for the land, to work with intention, and to be part of something that grows slowly over time.
This land holds more than what we grow today, it holds something we hope will carry forward for generations to come
